It’s the next day, and the girls are in their dorm room. Pepper is laying on her stomach on the ground. The book on Allenar forests is spread out on the floor in front of her. She’s writing in it with a pen (shocking!)

She is cross-referencing a map in the forestry book with a passage in Historeys of Enchantement. It seems like she’s trying to find forests where the Fae might have fled.

Avery is sitting on her bed. The Fair Folk is balanced on her knee.

Avery: This book says that the Fae Wood might not be a real place at all. That maybe it’s, like, a door you can find in Allenar’s forests.

Pepper: A door?

Avery: Like a magic door, I guess. I dunno.
