The goat puts his front hooves up on the fence, and Avery pets him for a minute before he hops back down. Charlie walks over to Avery, and leans on the fence next to her.
Charlie: Wow, he really likes you!
Avery: Animals have always liked me, I guess.
She scratches under the goat’s chin. He’s loving it.
Avery: I didn’t really notice until other people started saying things about it.
Charlie: It’s a shame you lived in the city for so long.
Avery: Oh, there’s lots of animals in the city. I have two dogs!
She realizes she doesn’t live at home anymore, and her face falls.
Avery: I… I HAD two dogs.
