TRANSCRIPT:
Pepper looks concerned.
Pepper: If anything you’ve ever told me is true, that boarding school was as bad as this one.
Avery: You were at another school before Signet? I guess I just assumed we all lived with our parents.
Pepper: Well, I USED to live with my parents. They sent me here when I was ten.
Avery: TEN!?
Pepper shrugs.
Pepper: What can I say? I’m a veteran.
Avery: How long have you been here, Charlie?
Charlie looks nonplussed.
Charlie: Almost two years, and I’ve never been home once.
Avery: This place is a prison.
Pepper leans into frame.
Pepper: I mean, yeah, but you shouldn’t say it. I don’t want you to get in trouble.
